Additionally, the symposium will also include a number of virtual workshops for the students and provide a platform for a great number of other organizations, to exhibit and represent their contributions to the scientific community The goal of this symposium is to promote as well as to bring forth an array of scientific topics for the students to acknowledge the vast number of fields they can emphasize on Alongside, students from all over the globe will engage and compete in 13 different categories, with the aim to explore, develop and showcase their work in the field of scientific research and innovation these categories include Hackathon, Business Idea Presentations, Biotech Painting, Bio Fiction, Planchette Event, Micrography Rapid Fire Talk, Bio Olympiad, Bio Collab, Bio Fair, Bio Art, BioCon Flash Quiz

Events

Symposium has a total of 9 different events. To participate in the events, every individual participant has to fill the symposium registration form. The registered participants don’t have to pay for participating in the events. Just pay for one time and participate in all the events.

1. Hackathon

The passionate biotechnologists who try to reach the root of a problem and find a way out, brace yourselves because this competition is for you people. This event will be a feast for your hungry problem solver brain. This event is divided into two groups and the participants will be given 24 hours to solve the case problem

Group A: Undergraduate students

Group B: Graduate and Post-graduate students

2. Business idea presentation

From new techniques to improve forensic biotechnology to gene therapy to industrial inoculum. The vast range of topics is kept open so that your ideas are not limited. Go wild and venture!

Abstract in 200 words which will contain a short introduction explaining the idea.  The idea must be authentic and any type of copying would result in disqualification. It must be logically and technically sound, achievable by today’s technology, and be able to be commercialized and grown into a company or organization.

3. Planchette Event

Right now, if we could bring Gregor Johann Mendel to earth again! What if we hear the story of his discovery directly from him? So, competitors in this segment, have to call the soul of the scientist. Through acting, they have to tell the feelings of the scientist, the story of their discovery, and the unspoken words of scientists about biotechnology.

Competition Rules:

  • The number of contestants is one.
  • Contestants have to record a maximum of 6 minutes of video.
  • They have to collect the clothes or decorations, costumes for this competition.
  • A contestant can play a maximum of three characters.
  • Background music can be added for six minutes of video editing.
  • The contestant can act in any language like Bengali or English.
  • Acting must be biotechnology-related. (For example, two dead scientists, in fact, discussing what stage their
biotechnology-related research is now at, their views on this should be expressed through acting.)
